De-Mineralized water is required for:1. Use as heat transfer fluid for direct steam generation in solar parabolic trough collector2. Mirror cleaning/washing purposeA. Inlet water quality1. Water source : Metro Water, Chennai2. pH: 7.53. Total Dissolved Salts (TDS) : 300-350 PPMB. Specifications of De-mineralized water:The de-mineralized water after treatment in DM plant should have the following properties1. Total Dissolved Salts(TDS) < 1ppm2. Chloride content < 1 ppm3. pH value in the range 6.5- 7.2C. Specifications of De-Mineralized water plant:1. Flow Rate up to 500LPH2. Output per regeneration should be >10000litres3. Catridge Filter Unit4. CationColumn5. Anion Column6. Mixed Bed Unit7. Material of construction: FRP or equivalent8. Monitoring instruments like Pressure Gauges and Conductivity meter9. PVC piping and valves10. Storage Tank for treated water11. Support Stand for the DM plantThe installation and commissioning of the DM plant is within the scope of vendor and should be done under the guidance of the user at IIT Madras.
